Verification Methodology
To support our role as South Africa's national guidance and referral hub, we check and review partner rescue information before listing them in our directory.
What "Reviewed Partner Information" Means
Before listing any partner, we review key public parameters:
- Organisation identity reviewed: We check the name and public identity against an official website or primary public channel.
- Official website checked: We check that the public website and the relevant action route respond when reviewed.
- Process information reviewed: We compare public descriptions with available official information and label uncertainty rather than assuming one standard process.
- Capacity claims: A temporary pause may be displayed only with a source, confirmation date and expiry or recheck date.
What It Does NOT Guarantee
Please note that a listing on our platform is not a guarantee of service. Specifically:
- No Capacity Guarantee: Rescue capacity changes daily. Listed partners may not have immediate space to accept surrenders.
- Independent Decisions: All adoption approvals, surrender intakes, and fee structures are decided solely by the partner organisation. SmallDogRescue.co.za does not process applications or make placement decisions.
Verification and Update Cycle
We check partner details against official public sources and direct confirmations where available. The "Last Checked" date comes from the canonical partner record and shows when the official website or route was last reviewed. It is not certification of every service. If you spot outdated information, use our Corrections Policy.
